Badmash Company is Yash Raj’s next project. The cast and crew of the movie are sharing the screen for the first time and so the audience can wish to see some new good chemistry between the co-actors of the movie. The trailers of the movie are doing a good business as an eye catcher for many audiences resulting in advance booking of the tickets for the movie. From the trailers the story line of the movie is a bit clear but not the full movie as a whole. The movie will rock the youth of the country as the story is confined to the youth of India. The movie revolves around four friends, which are played by Shahid Kapoor as Karan, Anushka Sharma as Bulbul, Meiyang Chang as Zing and Vir das as Chandu. They are middle class childhood friends and each one of them posses an extra ordinary character. They wonder that with such an extra ordinary talent, why are they yet unsuccessful in their respective lives?

Abruptly they plan a business to earn money quickly. The business is about fooling the world. And the catch of the movie is for how long will they be able to fool the world and what will they go through if they are caught red handed? Although their plan is a hit to beat the existing system as they have done all the wrong things in aright way, still the probability of getting into a trap is a mystery. All these factors make the movie a must to watch. The music and choreography is also a factor adding on to the rest of the factors.

Jazz – the Melodious Expression of American Freedom, Identity & Creativity

Jazz and Blues are among the most precious musical treasures that America takes pride in. Jazz is a great cultural expression of American “sense and sensibilities”. This American achievement has become the voice of the global community leaving the barriers of race and religion, the boundaries of caste and creed behind. It has made soul-stirring statements about the American freedom, identity and creativity at both home and abroad.

The origin of Jazz in New Orleans dates back to the turn of the twentieth century. North American cities like Chicago, Kansas and Saint Louis are supposed to have long been under the fascination of this musical medium that carries off the bell. Inspired by passion and pathos, this pride of America draws its resource from different walks of real life where human emotion is eloquent enough to tune the strings of minds and touch the depth of hearts.

Chicago has been a breeding ground for young imaginative and inventive Jazz players. Characterized by harmony and innovation, Jazz has got a new definition in the hands of the Chicago players endowed with a high technical ability. Significant contributions from well-known players like Bud Freeman, Benny Goodman and Eddie Condon have pioneered the music worldwide.

Swing, another heart-warming Jazz style belongs to the classical era of the 1930s when the Jazz groups mainly consisted of Big Bands. Swing is invigorating and rejuvenating. Regarded as a genre of dance music, it stands for vim and vigor. Individual musicians have improvised melodic and thematic solos from Swing. It made its comeback with retro trends in dance in the mid of 1990.

Bebop came to prominence in the early 1940s and morphed into a musical vogue by 1945. Charlie Parker, a saxophonist and Dizzy Gillespie, a trumpeter tops the list of the exponents of this Jazz style. Distinguished from Swing, Bebop established itself as an art form, a far cry from dance music. It soon became the base for all innovations of Jazz.

Classic Jazz originated as small band music in New Orleans at the onset of the 1900s. Referred to as “Dixieland” off and on, it used to be played by whites, blacks and African-American creoles. In Classic Jazz shows, musical arrangements varied from performance to performance. This lively Jazz style became richer when combined with hymns, marches and work songs.

Secure your Music through License Music

We are here to discuss how using a music licensing can benefit our music bands and business? First let us go through the different ways through which we encounter music in a course of a day. They are usually radio, audio compact discs, mp3, etc. Not only this, we also hear music in commercial soaps, radio advertisements, on hold to a call to a bank. In all this cases the song writer is earning some licensing fees and also creating a connection between the music and service or product being promoted. So it is compulsory to license music.
Licensing music means the licensed use of the copyrighted music. Music licensing indeed ensures that the creator of the musical work get paid for their compositions. A purchaser of a recorded music has limited rights to use and reproduce the music if that is licensed. Licensing music is not an easy process but there are certain books which give tips on how to license music? These books are specially written for the film-makers but the information can be applied for licensing music in television, web and many more.
For a musical band or lyricist outlook, License music is an authorization of the right to take advantage of one’s copyrighted music. The music band or the lyricist could be the music licenser if they are the owner of the copyrighted music. License music helps the musical band or the lyricist to earn money for the use of their music which was very hard to create. The individual or the company that has been granted the authority of the music is the music licensee. Licensing is priced based on the type of the project.

Take a Dive into the Pool of Colors with Rajasthani Folk Dance Forms

Rajasthan is a land of colors. Saying, Rajasthan is a rainbow itself is not an exaggeration. The variety and density of colors is mostly perceptible in Rajasthani art and culture. Various folk dance forms prevalent in different parts of this Rajputana land will give you a dip into the pool of colors. Rajasthani folk dances make a beautiful collage of vivacity, vigor and vibrancy evoking the spontaneous flow of human emotion as well as creativity even in the land of dreary sands. Make a tour with me to have a glimpse of these Rajasthani dance delights -

Gowari is a most famous dance form practiced by the people of the Bhil tribe. It is a genre of dance drama. The performers form a troupe and travel across villages showcasing their dancing excellence. This particular dance drama entails the play of several characters. Rai Buriya and his two Rais are the chief characters. It is accompanied by music and clockwise & anti-clockwise movement. The steps in this folk dance mainly consist of free body movements.

The Terahtali dance is a superb and splendid folk art of Rajasthan. Dressed in colorful lehengas and cholis, a group of women perform it with all their might in a sitting posture. As the name suggests, terah or thirteen manjeeras are used to create a rhythmic music that dominates the dancers’ movement. With manjeeras tied on the wrists, elbows, arms and waists, the dancing women perform on the strong rhythmic beats of the manjeeras. The male folk singing and playing on the ‘Tandoora’ accompany them. This folk dance is a cultural pride of the Kamad community.

Chari dance is an artistic expression of joyous enthusiasm by women who walk miles with brass pots on their heads to collect water for their daily domestic needs. They perform the dance in a kaleidoscopic pattern of movements and balance the brass pots on the heads in rhythm with their steps at the same time. The flames rising from cottonseeds on the pot add to the charms of the performance. This Rajasthani dance form requires the best of efforts from the performers. Popular in the Kisherigarh region, it is simply lively and dynamic.

Ghoomer, Drum dance, Kalbelia, Walar, Gair and Kathputli are other elegant and graceful dance forms enriching the folk culture of Rajasthan. Synonymous with soulfulness and cheerfulness, these dance delights stand for the colorfulness of Rajasthan.

Karthik Calling Karthik – the Story of a Man and his Subconscious Self

Is Karthik Calling Karthik all about a psychological issue? Does the movie depict a split personality? Or is it a psychology thriller? These were the questions that kept a hold of my hand until the movie reached its end and reveal the personality problem of the protagonist, Karthik played by Farhan Akhtar.

The movie starts with Karthik who is introvert and shy by nature. Karthik possesses academic excellence but he is not aware of his potentiality. He is miserable at his mediocre job at a builder’s company, but he deserves more than the Mickey Mouse role. He is a butt of ridicule for his colleagues. He is even treated like dirt by his boss played by Ram Kapoor. Karthik secretly admires Sonali, his colleague. But, Sonali played by Deepika Padukone is little aware of his existence in the office. In brief, he is a loser from all sides. To say more precisely, Karthik is the J. Alfred Prufrock, a literary character by T.S. Eliot.

One night, suddenly, the phone rings and Karthik gets a call from someone he had never imagined to talk to. The person on the other side introduces himself as Karthik and claims to be his wellwisher. The man on the phone makes Karthik realize his potential, rouses his spirit and stirs his confidence. The night leads to a new sunny and bright morning in his life and Karthik turns over a new leaf. He begins to receive the same named man’s calls at the wee hours. The other Karthik becomes his guide, his friend, guardian and his mentor. Karthik speaking to the man having the same voice took me aback. I kept sitting on to watch the rolling of the wheel till the end.

Under the guidance of the other Karthik, Karthik comes out of the cocoon. He improves his body language, changes the course of his life, gets his due at workplace and wins the love of his much admired lady, Sonali. But, all this is a nine days’ wonder. The other Karthik is nothing but a manifestation of his subconscious mind. The story comes to a round when his mentor becomes hell-bent to pick his happiness into pieces and he is pushed into the previous shell once again. Karthik takes an escape from his inner self without knowing this fact to Cochin where he takes up a job and begins to live in alienation.

Karthik Calling Karthik is a combo of a love story and a suspense fare. The air of suspense is sure to hang over the audience from cover to cover. The story takes a dive into the deep of suspense when Karthik’s life turns upside down. Moreover, what kept me glued to the screen is the chemistry between Deepika and Farhan. Two numbers from the movie’s music album with modern tonality promise to swing the heads. Karthik is the second best performance from Farhan next to his debuted role in Rock On. The story of a person affected by personality disorder and his flow with up and down waves of life is meticulously narrated on celluloid by debutante director Vijay Lalwani.

Have you ever got a call from someone having the same name and same voice as yours?

My Name Is Khan – The Micro-to-macro Journey of a Philanthropist

My Name is Khan is a breakthrough creation by Karan Johar. It has taken Karan’s career as a director to a new high. Rizwan Khan, the protagonist is a bravura and brilliant performance by Shahrukh Khan. Many would take up the movie as a love story, portrayed also in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. A far cry from previous creations by Karan Johar, My Name Is Khan has gone beyond the boundary of a mere love story to touch the heights of humanity over religion and community, caste and creed.

My Name is Khan is a micro-to-macro journey of Rizwan Khan through a series of turmoil – physical, mental, personal, natural, communal and international. He was born with Asperger syndrome. In childhood, he learns from his mother that there is no difference between the Hindu and the Musalman. Only two types of people, good and bad exist in the world. After the death of his mother, he leaves for Sans Francisco with his brother. He joins the beauty product business of his brother as a salesman. While selling products to beauty parlors and shops, Rizwan meets Mandira, played by Kajol. Mandira is a Hindu. Deserted by her husband, she works in a beauty parlor and lives with her only son. Rizwan falls in love with her. After no no for some days, Mandira accepts his marriage proposal.

The story takes a turn, when the happy nest of Rizwan and Mandira breaks down at blows from the terrorist attack on World Trade Center to the Muslim Community in US. Mandira’s son falls prey to the angst of some American teenagers for Musalmans and dies. Mandira considers Rizwan responsible for the death of her son because her surname was changed after marriage with him. The bereaved Mandira snaps her ties with him and asks him to come back when he will prove that he is “Khan”, not a terrorist. He embarks upon a journey to Washington DC to meet President and tell him that he is not a terrorist. Despite several obstacles on the way, he fulfills his promise to Mandira. Rizwan’s activities and experiences during the journey are a lesson for audience from different walks of life.

My Name is Khan holds up several issues of both inhumanity and humanity like Americans’ ill-treatment of innocent Musalmans, a Musalman misguiding other Musalmans, a Musalman helping the Black Americans in hard times, misinterpretation of the Koran by some Musalmans and imprisonment of innocent Musalmans in suspicion of terrorism. Rizwan Khan is a philanthropist who wins the battle ultimately. His character keeps moving the plot from cover to cover. The movie is boring nowhere.

My Name is Khan is a movie of substance. When it comes to performance, the credit goes to Shahrukh Khan and Kajol and Zarina Wahab. Cinematography, direction, storytelling and music add to the appeal of the movie for mass audience. Having ingredients to make you laugh, cry, think and feel, My Name is Khan packs a punch for everyone. What to tell more!

Things to Keep in Mind When You Set Sail in a Brugt Bådmotor

Nothing beats sailing on the water. Be it a small fishing boat, a dinghy, a speedboat or a Brugt bådmotor, boating experience is just one of a kind. Those who like to explore the rather less famed places, a personal boat can come as a blessing. Before you set sail, get your hands on the anchor, the most important aspect of any sailing trip. Make sure to perform a few activities before commencing your journey.

First of all, take a long anchor rode. Say around 350 feet of it to ensure complete safety for your boat. You must know very well about how your boat reacts to the flow of water when anchored. If yours is a light Brugt bådmotor, it can dance to the tune of the water, if it has a thin outline, it will do the same.

Second thing, always make sure your boat is clean. Salty water, mud and dirt harm the body of a boat like no other. Even if you have bought a good Brugt bådmotor, if you do not take regular effort in its cleaning, you are sure to lose it very soon. Cleaning of these boats can and should be done with PVC pipes or leather strips which will ensure a long life for these vessels.

When you coil it, you must check your anchor line for broken fibers and coil it in a way so as to avoid any knots. Do not forget to mark the anchor line so that the people who are aboard, can understand that it is their Brugt bådmotor too.
